Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff *contains spoilers*

This story had started kinda slow to me but interesting enough to keep me reading. The story building and characters were good I thought. I thought the style of mixed media was also interesting. Classified files, emails, instant messages, etc. Kady and Ezra having been in a relationship and broken up before being taken and if i read and remember right they were on separate ships. I understand it while reading it, however trying to explain it and spelling the names is kinda hard to do.
This is like an apocalyptic space novel. People get an airborn sickness that was released through the airvents on purpose by a company calles biotech. Kady was able to preserve to the end and ready to die for the sake of others and aiden actually helped her to escape last minute. Had a pod not headed toward her looking for survivors then she would have died because her suit only had 2 hours left of oxygen and she would have died in a short time from no treatment to radiation she was exposed to from the nuclear blasts from the Lincoln.
She thought everyone had lost their lives including ezra, til she got to the H ship safe and sick in quartine. It wasn't very fast paced til over halfway through when it finally picked up. It was kinda hard to read sometimes.
Undecided on if i will read the next book or finish the trilogy/series...
Thanks for reading

Girl mans up (audiobook) *contains spoilers*

This story has an LGBTQ+ main character, and contains trigger words/situations. I want to add this is was the first EVER audiobook i had finished and was pretty happy about it. I have no lie, spent the last six hours binge listening.
Penelope discribes life as a high school student in her town. A LGBTQ+ teen, in a catholic private school. The friends she has, family drama, and the girl she falls in love with.
I thought it was messed up how her friend colby acts about things from the get go. Using her to get girls for him because he thinks she is more approachable being a girl. I love the friendship that turns into a relationship with blake. I loved how compassionate and loyal she was to olivia as she dealt with thw pregnancy. I dont agree or condone to abortion but it is something that happens and this covered it lightly enough to not encourage or defend and still brought some light to the fact that it does happen and what social and personal feelings might lead one to that decision.
Johnny aka jwow is an awesome big brother and is so understanding and supportive of Pen. In all aspects that a big brother should be. So much so i was almost envious.
I really liked the way that olivia stuck her revenge in a way that didnt bring extra drama, that didnt send a bad message (even though their one plan wasnt really vicious anyways).
And it was all in all a well rounded story.
I dont really have much more to say about it at the moment but it was definitely a decent read.
Thanks for reading.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer *contains spoilers *

I liked how the story was laid out, it was almost too slow but enough things happend through out the book that it kept it interesting. I do imagine that if the queen of hearts had a back story that this would be how it happened. I think it would be beneficial for me to read more alice in wonderland books and im hoping she does write more back stories / retelling on more characters.
This having been my first book by this author i am eager to see what her other retelling stories are like.
Thanks for reading~
~~~~~added on~~~~~
I think her parents are ridiculous for trying to force her hand in one moment. To turn around when everything falls apart and says they just wanted her to be happy when all along they just wanted to keep and save reputation. To have her dreams of being a baker and the love of her life torn away from her like that, despite the warning she qas given by the sisters.. i imaginetm peter felt the same way about his wife when that situation all around was different but still sad. I felt for him even though i still felt like he was weird and kinda crazy.
I understand where Maryann was trying to be concerned for catherines wellbeing but i also felt like there was some unnecessary betrayal.
These are the only thoughts i have for now but will reflect more and add if need be.
Thanks for reading.
The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
How daniel and natasha meet is so cute. The events that lead to that and the time they spent together and how it ends.. amazing.
The two different families and the views.. the epilogue really tugged my heart though. I was so glad i read that.
Really an awesome book and i dont want to put any spoilers. I recommend this book if you like books about fate and fluffy but heart felt reads.
Thanks for reading.
Later Gator by Jana DeLeon
This installment to this series is, as usual, funny and so much fun to read. I have been stuck on this series since I picked it up 2 years ago. I don't want to give anything away so I won't say much about this book other then it's a series I recommend and a lot of page turning fun.
I always get a kick out of the trio. Fortune, Ida Belle and good ol' Gertie.
The way that those ladies get in and out of trouble is hilarious and i know everytime i read one of the books in this series, that i will always enjoy the adventure...
